New Media Up on the Website

July 20, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Just wanted to let you know…I posted some new stuff on the website. Kelsey and I shot a wedding a couple of weeks ago and the trailer for that is up. Also, I completely remixed and mastered “I’m Gonna Save Us” by Copa.  Rory is getting an album together and I felt like I could mix that song better than I had 2 years ago when I first entered the Recording Arts program at MTSU.

Here is a pic from the band we recorded down in Baton Rouge last week. It was a 3 day youth conference and Jonathan Stockstill was the worship leader.

Shooting a Wedding

July 6, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well…this weekend I(we) embark upon the new experience of capturing a wedding. Kelsey, my lovely wife, and I will team up to tackle this. I’m excited to work with her on this because she has a great eye for things in general and will probably get better shots than me :) . We will be shooting with three 3CCD camcorders in standard definition in the attempt to shoot a very cinematic wedding with the equipment we have available. Here are some pics of us getting everything ready last night.

Calling Baton Rouge…

July 2, 2007 · 1 Comment

Well…well…where do I start. I’ve been a busy guy the last 2 weeks. After finishing up preproduction with Jamie we now have 6 great songs to go into the studio for the first phase of the album. I have about 75% of the editing done on our tracks and hope to be finished with that this week. I also went over to Brent’s (the producer I’m interning with) studio for a vocal session with Jared Anderson.

This past week I’ve been in Baton Rouge Louisiana with Brent recording a live worship album for John Stockstill at Bethany World Prayer Center. I must admit…when I first got down there I thought that I might be just sitting there watching but excitingly that wasn’t the case. The engineer had to leave after the first night so that put the assistant engineer in charge and me to assist him. We hit 12-14 hour days but I learned a ton about the live recording process. Brent asked me to come back with him in month so I hope everything works out with my schedule and work. Anyway here are a few picks from the event.

This is the studio at the church. Pretty nice setup for a church.

This is Amos(engineer) and I after repatching everything to fix problems that occurred from a bad patchbay on night 1 of the recording. He’s a cool dude.
