Jamie and I started preproduction on his album last Thursday and Friday. That means we are working on arrangements, keys, and tempo for the songs and then recording a rough track of guitar and vocals for a guide. Jamie and I worked well together had similar taste which made the process smooth. He’s very creative and very fast during this process so I’ll have a lot to learn. Here is a pick at Jamie’s house after we got done combining all our equipment. I love gear!

I rented an Apogee Rosetta 200 to run into my Mbox for better A/D sampling. I also used a Neve 1272 for acoustic and Avalon 737 for scratch vox.

Here is Jamie in the makeshift isolation room. We tracked vox and acoustics in here.

We have 4 out of the targeted 6 arranged and scratched tracked. We’ll be finishing up the other two songs in the next couple of weeks. The plan is to track in the studio in May. Oh…and on a personal note…Kelsey and I sold our ‘99 Honda Passport and Purchased an ‘04 Saturn Ion. We love it and it gets 35mpg!!!
