Good news! The decision has been made on my Final Project(similar to a thesis) that will be the culmination of my 3 year existence as an M.F.A. student. Over the last two weeks, I have been meeting with artist/songwriter Jamie Harvill about plans to record a full length album. Jamie wrote the song “Ancient of Days” and “Firm Foundation” and toured with Truth for a number of years. I will be engineering the project and co-producing along with Jamie. It will be a twelve song cd released early 2008 and we will soon be starting pre-production for the first 6 songs. The tracking will be done at Westwood Studios in Nashville and overdubs will be done at Jamie’s home studio and MTSU studios. Jamie has a heart for God and his music reflects that. I’ll give you more details at a later date.

This week I got to work with a talented comedian by the name of Joby Saad on some video editing. It was great working with him and its good to have a commedian sitting beside you when you have stared at a computer monitor for 6 hours. Here is a pic from the session:
I also went to see Eric Paslay, a buddy of mine, play a show at a local establishment called the Buganut Pig. It was a songwriter night and Eric was a great performer as always. It’s good to get out and see a show from time to time to remember why I’m putting in all this work and 3 years of my life.
And finally….a scene from Murfreesboro, TN…I feel like Charles Kuralt. Kelsey took this yesterday morning after we had an inch of snow. Is our mail here yet?
